Topic 8: MODAL VERBS FOR EXPRESSING ABILITY AND POSSIBILITY

The commonest way of expressing 'ability' is throught the use of the modal verb 'can' in different tenses. For the negative, use 'cannot' and 'could not'. as for'possibility','may' and 'might' are used.
Example:
(1) Everyone here can speak english.
(2) She cannot write well.
(3) He may be in some trouble.
(4) He thought that he might be late for class today.

Exercise
Complete each of the sentence by filling in the blank with 'can','cannot', or 'could not'.
